World Wide Knit in Public Day - 10th Of June 2017

A group of knitters will gather at Food Lovers Market in Bungendore to celebrate World Wide Knit in Public Day! This is a casual event open to all - bring your knitting or crochet, have a cuppa at the cafe (they have pretty yummy cakes and other food, too!) and celebrate your craft with others. Open to all skill levels! I will be there in the afternoon after 1:30, but feel free to come in at any time. You may have seen our beautiful Regenbogen yarn cakes in our store. They are gorgeous hand-wound yarns that are perfect for creating multi-coloured shawls, ponchos and in fact anything where you would like to have a gradual colour change.Rellana Regenbogen yarn is made of four separate parallel strands of yarn. After a certain interval, a new colour is added to the yarn.  These colours are added gradually by hand to create a beautiful transition. Ideal crochet yarn: Adina cotton

We have just added a whole new yarn variety to our collection: Adina cotton by Rellana. Adina cotton is a 100% cotton yarn that is tightly plied with an almost silky surface. It is combed and mercerised and very robust. Wash it in the washing machine at up to 60 degrees Celsius. This is the ideal yarn for crochet projects, particularly bags, pot holders and other projects that require a denser yarn.  In fact, I am about to add some great patterns to the website made for this yarn, so watch this space! Double sided crochet hooks and netting needles

Once you start crocheting, you might come across some of the more unusual techniques, such as hair pin crochet or Tunisian crochet (also known as cro-hooking or coo-knitting).
